We capture moments that you don't want to forget!

At Serenity Photography we are committed to provide you with the best experience, quality and service. That is why in 2013 we have partnered with the oldest Australian photo lab, the Atkins Lab.
Atkins Lab was founded in 1936 by William George Atkins and is still ran by the Atkins family. Over the years they have built the best team in the industry and many of their staff have been working with the lab for over 30 years. Atkins products are hand made and carefully crafted by true experts in the field. They know that albums and prints can be done cheaper and faster elsewhere, but they won't be done better. We believe that our clients deserve photographic products that will last generations, heirlooms to enrich the memories and stories of families.

Designed in the house and hand crafted using Italian book binding machines and techniques, our finest lay flat albums will become a gorgeous family keepsake.
Atkins Matte Art Paper is sandwiched with archival adhesives allows stunning double page spreads on single sheets of paper.

Each album is bespoke and we will design and revise it together, until you are happy with the result. There is an incredible range of high quality cover materials and colours to choose from: silks, linens, leather, velvet. You can include an image on the cover or choose one of 60 engraving designs from vintage to minimalistic. And if you can't find the one you like we can work on a custom design for you. We can add a custom vellum page or a silk bookmark, choose different page thickness and even use thorn edge pages for a more vintage look.

PRINTS
We offer a great range of prints and wall packages.

Hand Made Paper prints
Paper Pure cotton and made paper, individual sheets
Price guide $$$$
Size range Limited specific sizes
Printer type Pigment ink
Paper weight 150-300gsm
Edges available Only the natural edge
Colour gamut Widest available but the white of the paper restricts it
Considerations We won an innovation grant from the Australian Federal Government to develop the methods for creating these amazing creatures and we are the only lab in the world making them. Each one is a unique creation on it's own, the paper and the prints. The papers are made by hand. Each one is unique, there can be irregularities in the lay of the paper, including the occasional seed, and the colour of the paper varies dramatically. The texture is also heavy and can vary. Think of it like linen, the variations are part of the loveliness. The edge of the paper is the natural edge that is achieved when each sheet is made by hand.
Master Fine Art prints
Paper Pure cotton, and some coated choices
Price guide $$$
Size range Most papers can go to 140cm wide by any length
Printer type Pigment ink
Paper weight 150-300gsm
Edges available Straight or hand torn
Colour gamut Widest available
Considerations These prints are the highest quality print available at the moment. The detail and colour gamut is unmatched and we have won many many awards with our prints. They are however, quite delicate. The ink virtually sits on the surface of the paper and if you are rough with them the ink will be damaged. We do spray a protective fixer onto the prints if they are not going to be framed, but careful handling is still advised. We have a range of paper types for Master Fine Art prints. Our paper samples show you our Textured Cotton, Smooth Cotton, Lustre and Pearl. We have other options available as well as fabrics. Just ask us. It's important to note that each paper type reacts differently to the ink, different paper whites and textures influence the end result. If you are concerned about your choice of paper please talk to us and we can help.
Matte Art prints
Paper Smooth matte
Price guide $$
Size range This paper comes in 12, 8 and 6 inch rolls
Printer type Dye based ink
Paper weight 150gsm
Edges available Straight or hand torn
Colour gamut Wide but not as good as Master Fine Art
Considerations These prints are a good all rounder. They are a stunning flat matte, but they aren't as expensive as the Master Fine Art, they are also not a thick as the Master Fine Art prints, they are a bit tougher too and can be handled without as much risk of damage. But the downside is they do not share the broad colour gamut and subtle controls of the Master Fine Art. It's important to note they are printed using dye inks, which don't have the UV resistance of pigment ink. We love them because finally we can have a basic print that is super-matte
Silver Halide prints
Paper Traditional photographic paper with a lustre, gloss or metallic finish
Price guide $
Size range This paper comes in 20,12,10,8,5,4 inch rolls
Printer type Light sensitive paper processed in chemistry, washed then dried
Paper weight 130gsm
Edges available Only straight
Colour gamut Good but not as wide as Matte Art
Considerations These papers are the same photographic paper you would be used to from your past, the back is branded Kodak Professional, the surface is slightly shiny to really shiny. It's the shininess that makes it so hardy. The image is held inside the emulsion of the paper and has been formed by light altering silver crystals coupled with dyes, then developed in photographic chemistry, washed and dried. The resulting image is stunning, and very durable, ideal for prints that are going to be handled by humans, nothing works as well when considering price, durability and quality.

Prints are available in different sizes from 10x10 cm to 150 x 225 cm mural size
